  • REV. DR. EUGEN J. PENTIUC APPOINTED DEAN OF HOLY CROSS

    Rev. Dr. Eugen J. Pentiuc has been appointed Dean of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, effective January 1, 2024. His appointment follows an external international search coupled with a decanal nomination by the Faculty of Holy Cross. Fr. Pentiuc joined the Holy Cross faculty in 1998, became tenured Professor of Old Testament and Semitic Languages in 2009, and since 2018 has been Archbishop Demetrios Professor of Biblical Studies and Christian Origins.     Dr. Timothy Patitsas, Interim Dean of Hellenic College and Assistant Professor of Christian Ethics at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, attended the world premiere of his short documentary, Amphilochios: Saint of Patmos, at the Houston Greek Film Festival in Houston, Texas, on Saturday, November 18, 2023.   • LILLY ENDOWMENT AWARDS $1.125 MILLION TO HOLY CROSS FOR THE SCRIPTORIUM PROGRAM

    Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology has received a grant of $ 1,125,995 from Lilly Endowment Inc. to help establish The Scriptorium: Preaching and Teaching in a Digital Age.  The program is being funded through Lilly Endowment’s Compelling Preaching Initiative.   • HCHC’S INCOMING ENROLLMENT ONE OF THE LARGEST IN ITS HISTORY

    Hellenic College Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology is delighted to announce the admission of 93 incoming students, one of the highest entering classes since the School's founding 86 years ago. Hellenic College welcomed an incoming class of 40 students, twice the size of last year's, impressively increasing the total number of undergraduates to 64--almost a 50% increase.
